Creality K1C
My Experience
After 2 month with my Creality K1C I like to share my experience with you. Yes, I know, some of you would say that 2 month isn’t a long time which is of course true. But within those 2 month I realized more than 400 prints (today exactly 414) with my Creality K1C and because of that I’m sure that I’m able to share my experience with you.
As a maker and designer I printed models of other designers as well as my own designs. Mainly I used PLA, PLA+, PLA Silk and PETG for my prints combined with the standard 0.4 mm nozzle of the Creality K1C. I also tried different filaments from different companies like Creality, 3D Jake, eSUN, SUNLU and The Filament. But that’s a topic for another post.
My K1C arrived
However, let’s come back to the Creality K1C. 2 month ago I bought my Creality K1C from 3D Jake online store. It has been delivered fast and in the original box. The printer was very well packed and delivered without damages. Creality did a great job with the packaging, so thanks for that.
The printer was nearly fully pre-assembled. I could take it out of the box and had only to assemble the display, the door handle and to remove a 3 screws which were necessary for transport safety. All in all it took me about 30 minutes to get it running. So I followed the instructions on the screen, connected my printer with my network and my Creality Cloud account and my printer started to test itself. The test, including input shaping, took round about 15 minutes and I was ready to go!
So I loaded the Creality Hyper PLA, which came with the printer, into my K1C and printed my first Benchy. I was really suprised by the speed and so it took only approx. 17 minutes to finish the standard benchy, which has been printed in a great quality.
I also printed the optional filament holder and mounted it on the side of mine. So it’s easier if I just want to print PLA, but I usually use the printer together with my Creality Space Pi filament dryer which I will review in another post.
2 month later
After 2 month and more than 400 prints I can truely say that the K1C always worked great and reliable. Only two times I’ve had to disassemble the extruder because it contained broken-off filament remnants, which meant that no more filament could be loaded. However, it must be said that this problem was not due to the K1C printer, but occurred exclusively with a specific filament and color (3D Jake, ecoPLA, Red). The extruder could be disassembled easily but for the first time I had to gently remove glue from the fan and extruder plugs. I don’t know why, but Creality glued those plugs with a kind of hot glue to the sockets.
Beside that I haven’t had any issues with my K1C and thats why I can clearly say that it is an amazing Core XY printer, maybe the best you could get in 2024/2025 for this budget. With it’s build volume of 220 x 220 x 250 mm, the enclosure and the high-temp hotend it can also be used with ABS, ASA and Carbon fiber filaments.
And because it comes nearly fully pre-assembled and has an auto Z-leveling it’s also a great choice for beginners.
I’ve heard that there is also an upgrade kit available for the K1 series so that you can use it in combination with the CFS, but I couldn’t find this upgrade kit in the shop yet.
Thanks very much for this great product Creality! You did a great job!
And no, I was not sponsored or supported by Creality, or others, for this article in any way. That’s my personal opinion and experience. Below you I share some prints with you which I realized with my Creality K1C.
